261 – Pühajärve bicycle route

Otepää Nature Park (0 km) – Kiigemäe hill (2.3 km) – Sihva (5 km) – Annimatsi road (7.2 km) – Arula road (9 km) – Otepää Nature Park (11 km)The surroundings of Otepää, Pühajärve and Kääriku is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas in Estonia for cyclists to explore. This hiking trail starts at the Otepää Nature Park. In the middle of the picturesque nature on the shores of Lake Pühajärv, you’ll be riding along a narrow road until Kiigemäe hill, which is curvy and quite steep. As a reward for making it up, you’ll have a smooth downhill ride along the former Otepää ski training track. A short distance from the road stands the Hobustemägi hill, which is also worth a visit.
After crossing the Väike Emajõgi River, you will reach Sihva, and from there you will head back to Otepää. Until now the ride was on small quiet roads, but from Sihva back to Otepää you can cycle almost all the way on cycling paths.
Before reaching the garden city of Otepää, you’ll pass by Pühajärve SPA, a beautiful beach and Pühajärve War Oak.
The entire trail is paved and safe, and accessible to anyone in terms of length.
You can start the hike either from the Otepää Nature Park or, if you come by car, from the parking lot by Lake Pühajärv.
