Before going on a bike ride, it is worth looking around Otepää, its hillfort and the tracks of the modern Tehvandi Sport Centre.
Then start your trip at the Otepää Nature Centre, climbing the pathway up the hills to reach Otepää. Through the city centre, ride past the Tehvandi Ski Stadium and head to Väike Munamägi. While riding past, you can imagine all the activities the ski resort has to offer in winter.
A few kilometres further, turn onto the forest road to Vidrike, where people race their cars during rally competitions. This section offers many scenic views of the mountains and lakes. From Vidrike, head to the Restu crossroad, where you will ride on a quiet forest road at first, later on a highway. An paved road with light elevations leads from the Restu crossroad to Sihva, with Harimägi on the left, Märdi watermill on the right. The same pathway, which is also used on Route 261, leads from Sihva to Pühajärv.
This route is of medium difficulty, with about 12 km of gravel roads and more than 10 km of pathways.
You can start the trip either at the Otepää Nature Centre or, if you are arriving by car, in the parking lot by Lake Pühajärv or Tehvandi Ski Centre.
