Canoeing on the Kooraste lakes

The Kooraste lakes in the Vidrike-Kooraste primeval valley of the Otepää upland is the most spectacular chain of lakes in Estonia with 11 lakes altogether. The largest and most famous of them is Lake Kooraste Suurjärv, where there is also a small island called Hirvesaar.

As we have to pass through ten lakes on this canoe trip, it is suitable for those who are not afraid of challenges and are looking for a true adventure. At times, we have to step out of the canoe and walk next to it. The streams and canals connecting the lakes, the beaver dams, and other obstacles in them make this trip quite difficult. We recommend that you come here in a good mood and wear weather-appropriate clothing.
