Blue Flag Returns to Pühajärv Beach

After a long break, Otepää Pühajärv Beach has once again been awarded the international Blue Flag eco-label. The Blue Flag last flew at Pühajärv from 2000 to 2007.

The Blue Flag is one of the world’s most respected environmental quality labels for beaches and marinas. It is awarded only to beaches that meet strict international standards for water quality, environmental management, safety and visitor services. At Pühajärv, this means:

📅 Summer at Pühajärv is full of events! On 20 August, from 11:00 to 15:00, the lakeside will host a free, family-friendly Accessible Water Activities Festival. The programme includes children’s workshops, the Otepää Village Street, demonstrations by the Estonian Rescue Board, boat rides from Pühajärve Marina, and the opportunity to participate at the shorter-distance Riverways Triathlon 2026 course. The day will conclude with a special performance by Jaan Tätte.
